    Universal Ticket Scanner

Eventix's Universal Ticket Scanner turns your phone into a gate infrastructure device that can read and validate tickets from multiple providers. Whether it's an Eventix QR code, a TicketPal barcode, or a printed ticket number — one scanner handles them all with automatic provider detection and real-time validation.

    1

    Open the scanner

Navigate to /check-in and select your event. The universal scanner activates your camera and supports QR codes, Code128, Code39, EAN, UPC, and PDF417 barcodes. It auto-detects the format — no configuration needed.

    2

    Automatic provider detection

When you scan a code, the system automatically identifies the ticket provider. Eventix QR codes are validated against the tickets database. External codes (TicketPal, TicketLinkz, etc.) are matched against registered batches. The provider name is displayed on the result screen.

    3

    Register external providers

Go to your event management page → Physical tab → Providers. Add each external provider with its name, prefix, code pattern, and verification method. This tells the scanner how to recognize and validate tickets from that provider.

    4

    Authorize gate devices

From the Physical tab → Devices, register each phone or tablet that will be used for scanning. Set the gate name (e.g., 'North Entrance') and authorize the device. Only authorized devices can run check-in scans — preventing unauthorized access.

    5

    Read the scan results

Valid tickets show a green confirmation with provider name, attendee info, and ticket number. Duplicates show an orange warning with the original scan time and gate. Invalid tickets show a red error. Suspicious codes (outside registered ranges) trigger a yellow warning.

    6

    Use manual entry as fallback

If a code won't scan (damaged barcode, cracked phone screen), switch to manual entry. Type the ticket code and the same validation pipeline runs — provider detection, range checking, duplicate prevention.

    7

    Monitor multi-provider analytics

Your dashboard shows check-ins broken down by provider: Eventix, TicketPal, TicketLinkz, generic — with totals. This gives you a complete picture of attendance across all ticket sources.

    Pro Tips

    • Register all external providers before the event — unregistered provider codes will show as 'Unknown Provider'.
    • Test scan one ticket from each provider before gates open to verify detection works correctly.
    • The scanner works offline — ticket batches and provider patterns are cached locally for instant validation.
    • For festivals with 1,000+ attendees, set up multiple authorized gate devices to reduce queue times.
    • Check the Alerts tab regularly for suspicious scan patterns — the system flags potential counterfeit ticket activity.
