    QR Code Check-In

Eventix's built-in QR code scanner makes check-in fast, secure, and reliable. No extra apps or hardware needed — just use your phone's camera. The system handles paid tickets, cash tickets, duplicate scans, and tracks your headcount in real time.

    1

    Navigate to Check-In

Go to /check-in or click 'Check In' from your dashboard. Select the event you're checking in for. The scanner activates your device's camera automatically.

    2

    Scan tickets

Point your camera at the attendee's QR code (displayed on their ticket page, confirmation email, or downloaded ticket image). The system validates the ticket in under a second.

    3

    Handle scan results

Valid tickets show a green confirmation with attendee name, ticket type, and order details. Already-scanned tickets show an orange warning with the original check-in timestamp. Invalid or fake codes show a red error.

    4

    Cash ticket detection

When you scan a cash ticket, the system automatically detects it and opens the Cash Collection prompt with the amount due, change calculator, and quick-action buttons. See the 'Cash Payments' guide for the full workflow.

    5

    Name lookup fallback

If an attendee can't pull up their QR code, use the Name Lookup feature to search by name, email, or order number. Manually check them in from the search results.

    6

    Track real-time headcount

Your event management overview shows real-time check-in counts alongside total tickets sold. Know exactly how many people are inside at any moment — critical for capacity management and safety.

    Pro Tips

    • Test the scanner on your own ticket before the event to ensure your device's camera works well in the venue's lighting.
    • Keep your phone's screen brightness at maximum for better camera performance in dark venues.
    • Assign dedicated check-in staff for events over 200 attendees to keep the line moving.
    • The scanner works offline for ticket validation once the event data is loaded — internet interruptions won't stop you.
